History of the Study Program

The Information Systems Study Program was founded to answer the growing need for professionals in information technology and information systems, driven by rapid technological advances and digital transformation in many industries. The program was officially established in 2016 under the Faculty of Science, Engineering, and Technology, Alma Ata University.

From the start, the study program has focused on providing quality education that combines computer science, management, and business knowledge. The curriculum is regularly updated to stay relevant with industry demands and the fast-changing digital landscape.

In 2020, the Information Systems Study Program earned a “B” accreditation from the National Accreditation Board for Higher Education (BAN-PT), confirming national recognition of the academic quality and educational standards achieved by the program. This milestone reflects the continuous efforts of the entire academic community — lecturers, students, and staff — in strengthening education, research, and community contribution in the field of information systems.

The program continues to innovate by embedding competencies aligned with Industry 4.0. It also builds collaborations with universities and industry partners, both nationally and internationally. Through these partnerships, students are involved in real projects, giving them hands-on experience to develop technical skills, analytical thinking, and problem-solving abilities needed in professional environments.
